Elliot

Born in June of 2006, Elliot is a gelded 3/4 Fjord, and a 1/4 Percheron, and the youngest in the herd. He was a by-product baby of the Premarin industry. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this cruel industry, a lot of the babies are unneeded and therefore are being killed. We actually rescued Elliott only few days away from an auction deadline.

Like all Fjords, Elliot is loving, gentle, and sweet. Before we rescued Elliot we read about the Fjord draft horses and learned what great temperaments they have.

But after having Elliot we realize to what a great extent this information was indeed accurate. When Elliott arrived, he was a beautiful, but funny looking baby horse that kind of looked like an unidentified alien creature. For a while there we did not know if he was actually a horse.

He was all white and fluffy, and his mane had different colors, it was quiet long and actually grew upward. He was so amazingly adorable that we felt like taking him inside the house with us (still do). As he grew older, Elliott's colors have changed to a beautiful light tan. His mane however still is quite funny looking as the hair grows in different directions.

He has the famous Fjord dorsal stripe along his back, kind of like a zebra.Like all Fjords, Elliott is so very loving and gentle. He loves affection and gives lots of kisses on the face.

He is really comfortable being around people, loves to be brushed and petted constantly, and enjoys just relaxing by us and follow us around the ranch.

He loves to play and run around especially with his brother Oliver. It is such a joy to see them both playing together.Being the youngest in the herd, he is always instructed by his brother and sisters as to how to act properly, how to wait for his turn for treats, and when to get into his corral at night.

He is also easily being pushed around and is the last one to reach the snacks. However, it is very obvious that he is very loved by the rest of the herd.

His brothers and sisters are always very loving and patient towards him.We love our baby boy Elliott so much, and hope that he will have a happy and long life here with us.
