Oliver
Born on June 2005, Oliver is a gelded Clydesdale. We rescued him from a ranch in Hemet, California. He was a baby born in the Premarin industry. Oliver is about 15.5 hands tall but still has about three more years to grow. We suspect he will probably reach to be over 17 hands tall and will weight over 2000 pounds. He is a real beauty. He has the typical Clydesdale colouring and the white feathers on his legs. His hoofs are already huge and look like dinner plates. Oliver is a real momma's boy. He loves to be kissed and petted, and runs to his mom when he sees the brush. It seems that he always care for the way he looks and try to stay beautiful for the girls in the herd.
Like all other Clydesdale's personalities, Oliver is very smart and extremely gentle, sometime even shy. He is very loved by all the other horses in the herd especially Tess, the alpha mare. He is the most playful one in the herd. He always tries to push everyone to run and play with him, and does not stop until someone gives up and agreed to play back. Usually his younger brother Elliott.
Like all drafts though, he tend to be a bit lazy, and doesn't like to exercise much, but being the good boy that he is, he always tries to please his mom and dad, and finishes his exercise routine anyway. He is great with the Ferrier and even kind to the vet.
We love Oliver dearly, and appreciate his kindness and his unconditional love for us. |
